Tax Rebate FeverPlease use freely. All I ask is that you include everything in between the two borders. If it's not too much trouble, please do email me with publication/forwarding particulars. It's neat to know who's benefitting from this information! This feature deals with USA tax laws and how you can use them to your advantage. It is made available on a more or less weekly basis. ******************************************************************************** Taxpayers will soon learn how much money, if any, they'll get in rebate checks from the government as official IRS notices hit the mail. On July 10, 2001, Congress approved funding for 91 million letters stating the amount of individual checks. Democrats complained about what they called the sweepstakes tone of the letter that credits Congress and President Bush for 'long-term tax relief' and threatened to kill the mailing. But the impasse was finally broken and letters are expected to begin arriving by July 15, 2001, or so. 'We anticipate that the notices will be sent very shortly,' said Rob Nichols, deputy assistant secretary of the U.S. Treasury Department, on July 10, 2001. The Bush administration hopes that the letters prevent an avalanche of calls to the Internal Revenue Service and help taxpayers avoid confusion and anxiety - and scam artists - by telling them the exact rebate amounts and when they might expect their checks. Taxpayers not eligible for a rebate will get a letter saying that. The first checks are to arrive in the week of July 23, 2001. They'll be mailed through the end of September. A word for the wise: undoubtedly there will be mistakes in the letters sent informing you of the rebate amount. Analyze carefully! As always, PLEASE make sure you read and understand the fine print. It wouldn't be taxes in America otherwise! You can find help at my website: http://all-about-life.com/page463954.htm Or just send me an email.
