Many people go online to find songs to download for their phones, or iPods, or MP3 players, or even to make their own CD mixes. The Internet has become an easy way for people to access a lot of from home. Podcasts are another way people are sharing their over the Internet. Podcasts allow musicians to share their with others. Most times these musicians are small independent groups who are trying to gain publicity and get a larger fan base. This is a great way for these musicians to get their out there, and hopefully get noticed by the industry. Fans also love these Podcasts. The Podcasts allow the musicians and fans to have a closer connection with each other. Fans can give the musicians their feedback on their music. This is also a great way for the musicians to get a better idea of what their fans truly want from them. The musician may get a lot of requests for the same thing, and can know change what ever he needs to in order to make his fans
happy. This also allows the musician to gain a loyal fan base.
Fans can get on these Podcasts and listen to from their favorite musicians. You can listen to before you go out and buy the whole CD. This is also a great way for the musicians to gain interest in their new releases before they come out in stores.
Musicians are not the only ones who can benefit from Podcasts. DJs are also benefiting from this. They can Podcast their own mixes and get some publicity as well, although, most of these DJs play Podcasts just for the love of it.
Podcasts will probably soon become subscription based just like the other places you can download from. This will allow musicians to start charging a fee for their feeds. This should not be a problem as long as the musicians keep updating their with new songs for their listeners. There are some non groups that have already said they would Podcast their files if it became subscription based.
If you are a lover this is a great way for you to stay connected even more. You can get online and sample new music, and even find a new band that you might really like. You never know what you will find and what you might like. You may find a new band that peaks your interest. You can even give your feedback and have a close connection with your newfound band of liking. The Podcast benefit the musicians and fans alike, what a great combination.

streetmouse @ 01/07/2009 07:32 PM :

It's not racist when anybody other then a white calls a black a Negro.
Go figure.
U got it wrong. It's always racist when anyone other than a black does it.
Then how come it's not offensive if a black calls another black a Negro?
way i see it, it's a question of inequality. the use of the term arose from a fictional, racist, assumed inequality, and the term was used to denigrate black persons. i guess i'm not talking about 'negro' here, but its a similar deal.
the term then became transformed, for better or worse, to invert the power of the word. nowadays, it's used based on a very real inequality, that of experience. no white man has ever had to experience the original intent of that word as a means of degrading their character, whereas pretty much every black western person has. for me, that pretty much makes me think i have no right to say whether or not a black man should or should not use the word. its a choice made with understandable reasoning.
whether you find the word offensive or not is a slightly different matter, but there is a reason black people are entitled to such a word and others are not.
So if I?m ?Gay,? I can call myself and other gay people ?Fags??
If I?m a Lesbian, I can call myself and other lesbians ?Dykes??
Since when did being a minority give one the exclusive rights to a word. Seems that a black person calling another black person a ?Nigger,? is painting the whole race with a broad brush.
I mean, can I not call you ?Fat? because I?m not?
Words that are designed to hurt, or inflame have no place in our society other than their use by prejudice people. It would seem to me that calling another man, or woman a nigger, would be to reenforce the stereo-type, and continue the value tradition that blacks [niggers] are part of a sub species, seperate and unequal.
